The urbanisation La Zagaleta, located in Benahavís, Malaga, holds the record for being the most expensive residential area in the whole of Spain. Homes in this exclusive development exceed 5.6 million euros on average.

Despite being private homes, not hotels, most properties in La Zagaleta have more than 8,000m² plots, elevators, a cinema room and/or a spa. While Portal del Angel in Barcelona is the most expensive commercial road in Spain, the most expensive residential streets in the country are in Benahavis.

In this exclusive area of the Costa del Sol, the homes are for sale with an average price of 5.6 million euros. It is the most luxurious urbanisation in Europe, with over 900 hectares of land valued at around 3,000 million euros. Located in the most mountainous village of the Western Costa del Sol, Benahavis has just over 7,000 inhabitants, yet it has a dozen golf courses.

The second most expensive street for residential property is Camino del Sur in the urbanisation of La Moraleja, Madrid, where the average price of property is 5.06 million euros. Another street in Madrid takes the third position. Castle of Aysa, in the exclusive district of Conde de Orgaz also has properties with an average price of just above 5 million euros.

Tibidabo Avenue in Barcelona takes the next spot with an average price of 4.84 million euros for residential property, making it the most expensive street in Barcelona.

Madrid takes fifth and sixth places with La Finca en Pozuelo de Alarcón and also Avenida Miraflores. Buying a property on either of those streets will set you back an average of 4.7 million euros.

The city of Sant Andreu de Llavaneres in Barcelona has the seventh most expensive street in Spain: Avenida Rocaferrera has homes with an average price of 4.5 million euros.

The top ten most expensive streets are completed by three others located in the urbanization of La Moraleja: el Paseo Marquesa Viuda de Aldama (4.4 million euros), Calle del Camino Ancho, with homes for 4.3 million, and the Paseo del Conde de Gaitanes, whose average prices are around 3.88 million.
