Homes sales up 4.3% compared to January<\/p><\/div>\n

In February, there was 178,240 properties transferred in the property registers, a fall of -8.6% when compared to February 2020. When compared to the previous month the variation is +16%<\/strong>, according to data from the INE<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the case of registered sales, there was 89,395, an annual decrease of just -2.5%.<\/p>\n

86.0% of the sales registered in February correspond to urban properties and 14.0% to rustic properties. In the case of urban property, 56.1% are sales of residential property.<\/p>\n

The number of sales of rustic properties increased 4.0% on the annual rate in February, while that of urban properties decreased 3.5%. Within the latter, sales of homes registered an annual decrease of 4.3%, with 43,185 registered sales. When compared to January 2021, the variation is +8.6%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

23.5% of the home sales in February were new build and 76.5% were used. For new homes this represents an increase of 11.1% compared to February 2020, while the number of used home sales fell by 8.1%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Results by autonomous communities<\/h3>\n

In February, the total number of transferred properties registered in the property registers per 100,000 inhabitants reached its highest values in La Rioja (747), Castilla y Le\u00f3n (724) and Arag\u00f3n (634).<\/p>\n

The Basque Country (13.3%), Principado de Asturias (5.1%) and Castilla y Le\u00f3n (1.5%) registered the highest annual variation rates.<\/p>\n

The Community of Valencia (\u201329.1%), Regi\u00f3n de Murcia (\u201328.2%) and the Canary Islands (\u201318.0%) presented the lowest annual rates.<\/p>\n

In terms of registered home sales, the communities with the highest number of transfers per 100,000 inhabitants are the Community of Valencia (147), La Rioja (137) and Andaluc\u00eda<\/a> (133).<\/p>\n

The Autonomous Communities with the highest annual increases in the number of home sales in February were La Rioja (13.7%), Asturias (12.0%) and the Basque Country (10.9%).<\/p>\n

For their part, the Canary Islands (\u201316.2%), the Balearic Islands (\u201315.9%) and Arag\u00f3n (\u201313.5%) registered the greatest decreases. Home sales in Andaluc\u00eda fell by just -1.1%<\/strong>, in February, registering 8,908 sales.<\/p>\n
